ORANGE CHIFFON CAKE
          Oranges and lemons
                Sold for a penny
             All the school girls
                    Are so many
                 The grass is green
          And the rose 🌹is red
Remember me till I am dead dead dead
            Do you remember this song you sang in school as a little kid 😂. Now make this elegant and delicious cake loaded with the goodness of oranges for your loved ones and impress them .
                This spongy cake bursts with the aroma and flavour of  Oranges in every bite . The addition of orange 🍊 zest in the batter adds to the freshness .
                  For the topping I have brushed the warm cake with little bit of honey🍯 and sprinkled some orange zest .
INGREDIENTS NEEDED TO MAKE THE CAKE
Refined flour ( Maida) _ 1&3/4 cups
Baking powder_  1&1/2 tsp
Baking soda _ 3/4 tsp
Softened butter _ 3/4 cup
Orange _ 1 ( Use cheese grater to grate the zest . Be careful not to grate into the white part , otherwise cake will taste bitter. Then extract the juice and keep aside  )
Sugar (powdered)_ 3/4 _ 1 cup ( As I was using store bought orange crush  which already has sugar in it, I used   3/4 cup sugar )
Orange crush _ as needed to make the batter . ( I diluted it with some fresh orange juice)
METHOD
Preheat the oven to 180° celcius for 5 minutes
Grease a cake mould
Sift the DRY INGREDIENTS_ flour, baking powder and baking soda
Beat the WET INGREDIENTS_ butter and sugar well
Mix together the dry and wet ingredients lightly
Add in the orange crush  ( diluted with some freshly extracted juice )
Add the orange zest
Mix lightly till all the ingredients are well incorporated to form a smooth batter
Bake at 180° celcius for 25 _30 minutes or till done
Cool the cake and demould
TOPPING
Mix honey with orange crush / juice and brush the cake with it
Sprinkle orange zest ( I forgot to reserve for the garnishing 😜 . No issues 😊 . It tasted good without it too . )
Serve your creation with a hot cup of coffee or tea 😊😊
