 The year 2020

A black year of pain, deaths and calamities,

The little virus has caused havoc and uncertainties.

Life came to a screeching halt

when deaths, crisis and health hazards the villain caused

Scientists are working to tame the goon

But it is in no mood to leave too soon

With the virus forcing us to stay indoors

But let's not paint the year all black 

Let us be grateful for the good things it offered to bring us to the track

Necessity has brought  about  changes and new hopes

Productivity and creativity in the time of despair  and catastrophe


 Compassion and charity show silver lining do exist

Distance yet closer than ever

Love and care for each other

Technology has brought everything to our homes

Online education and work from home are the new norms 

Films, dance and music album launches

Weddings, convocations and community lunches 

Reinventing self with hobbies and books

Inventions to challenge the corona threats 

When all is so  bleak and dark

With resilience we are facing the shark 


The best teacher award of the year goes to year 2020

For teaching us the attitude of Positivity in negetivity

Let's usher in the New year,2021 with resilience, Positivity, strength and courage 

Made this CUSTARD CAKE ( with honey and jam topping) 

Dry ingredients _ Sieve and keep aside

Flour 1.5 cups

Custard powder ( any flavor_ I have used vanilla)

Baking powder 1tsp

Baking soda.    1/2 tsp

Wet ingredients ( Beat well)

Sugar ( powdered)  1 cup

Oil.   1/2 cup

Vanilla essence

Other ingredients

Chopped dry fruits

Tutti Frutti

Milk as needed to make a smooth batter

Method

Preheat oven to 180 degree Celsius for 10 minutes

Grease and line cake dish with paper

Make batter by mixing all the ingredients into a ribbon consistency batter

Pour the batter in the prepared cake dish 

Bake for,40 _ 45 minutes or till done

Cool the cake completely on the wire rack 

Unmould the cake 

Cool the cake completely

Frost with honey and jam topping

Honey syrup

Honey 1 tsp

Water 2tsp 

Mix and brush on the cake

Jam syrup

Jam 1tsp

Water 2tsp

Mix and cook till slightly thick

Brush on cake

Sprinkle the reserved dry fruits
