My parents are celebrating their anniversary in the heaven with the angels today ( 19 November)

They are now United together in their heavenly abode never never never never again......to part
They were the made for each other couple . They lived life to the fullest and enjoyed every bit of it with foreign trips to Europe n USA . Enjoying films at the film festival n going to trade Fairs at pragati maidan was an annual feature .Their common love for books made them start a library in the living room of the government house with books contributed by the members . Their gifts of encyclopaedias and books to my son , on his birthdays are still adorning the bookshelves of the house ..
Can never forget the home made cakes ,fish fries ,chops , cutlets ,roshogolla , luchi ,alu dom , ghughni , and ( pantua ( gulab jamun) parties at our Andrewsgang govt house during the cricket matches n practice time during pujas
Both were very loving, caring, humble meticulous , independent , pious but not superstitious .Both were tech savvy especially baba who was a keen learner n wanted to learn the nuances of things . Ma too never shied away from learning new recipes and trying them
They both felt that learning has no age .
Today while you cut your anniversary cake with the angels by your side ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

This SWISS ROLL CAKE WITH JAM FILLING & CHOCOLATE ALMOND MARZIPAN is a small tribute to my lovely Chocolate loving parents π«π«π«π«π«
RECIPE
Recipe of SWISS ROLL CAKE already shared in the blog
FOR JAM FILLING
Dilute some jam ( any flavor) with some water ( reserve some for brushing on roll before covering with marzipan
spread the rest of the jam on the roll
Sprinkle some chopped dry fruits
Roll back the cake with the help of the kitchen towel or butter paper
Keep it in the fridge to cool & firm up .( Till then make the almond marzipan
CHOCOLATE ALMOND MARZIPAN
Almond flour _ 1 cup
chocolate sauce_ 3_4 tbsp or more
Cocoa powder 1tbsp
Jam _ 2 tbsp
Combine all ingredients to make a dough
Roll it between two butter paper into a 1/4 " thick rectangle
Cut the uneven edges to form a neat rectangle
Take out the Swiss roll cake from the fridge
Remove from the butter paper
Brush the roll with the reserved jam
Put it on the short side of the Chocolate rectangular Chocolate sheet .
Roll up with the butter paper itself
Keep it back in the fridge again for sometime
Decorate
